Privacy and data security are of the utmost importance to the developer.
The EventCatcher app collects and stores only the data required for its functionality. This data is stored locally on the user’s device and is not shared with the developer or any third party.
If the user has enabled iCloud, EventCatcher data may be stored and synchronized through Apple’s iCloud service. In this case, Apple’s privacy policy applies.
Auto Capture
To use the Auto Capture feature, the user needs to set up a shortcut in Apple’s Shortcuts app. For convenience, EventCatcher provides a link to a pre-built shortcut (“Capture Events”) that the user can download and install.
The shortcut uses Apple’s AI-powered “Use Model” action to analyze a screenshot from the user’s device and extract event information. Depending on the model and configuration selected in Shortcuts, the screenshot may be processed by a third-party AI service. If ChatGPT is used, information from the screenshot is sent to OpenAI for processing.
Before using the shortcut, users should be aware that screenshots may contain personal or sensitive information. The processing of data through Apple’s Shortcuts app and ChatGPT is subject to the applicable privacy policies of Apple and OpenAI.
